Connecting devices to a Windows PC for Tapewise
Tapewise is a Windows based product, and as such anything that you can connect to and see in Windows, we can connect to and see/use. This currently encompasses all SCSI / FIBRE /SAS connectivity. Once the device is seen by Windows then in 99% of cases, we do not even need a device driver for it, as everything is built into Tapewise. HOWEVER in order to make the most out of Tapewise, we really need a device for a week or so, to customise Tapewise to it, and to get the most out of the device. This includes all the statistics, density selections etc. so that we can be sure Tapewise is utilising the device 100% correctly and we then can say the device is qualified. Tapewise already has a large number of Qualified device in it’s database, and it’s easy to add a device that already exists (but might have another name) to the system, even by an end user!
This list are all certified devices, all devices work but may need tweaking to get the best information out of them.
